A Return to Form
The Freeman
|July 13, 2025
Since its initial inception in 2012, Cebu’s Qube Gallery has become a force-toreckon in the local creative arts sphere —an incubator space for up-and-coming artists to grow; a platform where the visions of established creative daubers are presented to a broader audience.
Having been Cebu’s go-to art gallery for more than a decade, it went on a brief hiatus from staging regular shows in the first half of 2025, but earmarked the midpoint mark of the year with two “comeback” exhibitions.
The shows — “Emerging Tides” and “Rooted in Auspice” — came after the gallery’s well-received “Unscattered Voices” exhibit which served as the marker of its return to form. This particular show reintroduced Cebu to the different creative styles espoused by the many talents affiliated with Qube through the years, and its follow up shows brought Qube back to where it was on its trajectory prior to its hiatus.
