22 Cebu LGUs cited for CLUPs, PDPFP compliance

More than 20 local government units (LGUs) in Cebu, along with towns in neighboring provinces, were recognized by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region 7 for securing approval of their Comprehensive Land Use Plans (CLUPs) and the Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) covering 2021-2025.

The recognition underscores the LGUs' leadership in institutionalizing risk-informed and climate-responsive planning.
Cebu awardees included Cordova, Mandaue City, San Francisco, San Remigio, Tabogon, Talisay City, Madridejos, Moalboal, Naga City, Sogod, Tabuelan, Aloguinsan, Argao, Balamban, Daanbantayan, Sibonga, Toledo City, Bogo City, Consolacion, Medellin, Pinamungajan, and Ronda.
DHSUD said the awardees demonstrated strong commitment to resilient, sustainable, and well-planned development for their communities.
A Comprehensive Land Use Plan, as defined by DHSUD, is the primary planning document of cities and municipalities. It serves as the blueprint for allocating land and resources, balancing housing, industry, agriculture, and environmental protection.
