I have carefully weighed the virtues and faults of the Filipino and I have come to the conclusion that he is worth dying for."

- Cherry Piquero-Ballescas

His gruesome assassination inspired the Filipinos to fight for their freedom and topple the Marcos dictatorship 3 years after with the People Power at Edsa 1986.

Today, we especially honor Ninoy’s walk with God, his fervent faith.

Remember when he decided to go on hunger strike and leave everything to the Lord?

Did Ninoy wrestle with God, like Jacob did (Genesis 32:24)?

Was it during his imprisonment and self-exile that Ninoy “fell into the arms of God, and there he clung and wrestled, too, until the blessing came; and the new life was born and he arose from the earthly to the heavenly, the human to the divine, the natural to the supernatural?”

Was it during his crisis hour, when all resources failed, when Ninoy heard God’s call to “the highest and best, face either ruin or something higher than he ever dreamed; surrender completely; ease from his own wisdom, strength, and righteousness, and become crucified with Christ and alive in Him, that “there was no way outBUT GOD?” (Cowman, Streams in the Desert)

Ninoy said that if he went back and rallied the opposition, well and good, but if he got

killed, he would be with Jesus.

He last words in his interview with Pat Robertson: “Though He (God) slay me, I will trust Him.”

Ninoy Aquino — faithful till death to God, freedom, Filipinos.
