TRUMP TO IRANIANS: RISE UP
The Free Press Journal
|March 01, 2026
President Donald Trump announced that the United States has begun major military operations against Iran, describing the action as necessary to eliminate what he called imminent threats from the Iranian government and to prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
He urged the Iranian people to rise up and overthrow their government, saying, “When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours for the taking. This will probably be your only chance for generations.”
In a televised address, Trump said the objective of the operation is to defend the American people, US troops and allies abroad. He accused Iran's leadership of sponsoring decades of violence against Americans and others in the Middle East and beyond.
