LDF govt eyes 80 lakh homes for welfare audit

Kerala is gearing up for a sweeping public welfare audit, with the Pinarayi Vijayan government launching a Nava Kerala Welfare Survey aimed at canvassing public opinion before the upcoming elections.

Officials plan to visit 80 lakh households across the state in a comprehensive, door-to-door exercise. The Chief Minister’s office will oversee coordination and evaluation.

The survey is designed to assess the impact and reach of state welfare schemes, and to map gaps in delivery. Data collection will be conducted in a manner akin to literacy drives, employing teams that include college students. The module for inquiry has been drafted by a committee led by Chief Principal Secretary K. M. Abraham, who is tasked with ensuring methodological consistency.
