Ex-ISI chief gets 14-year jail sentence

Former ISI chief Faiz Hameed has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment after a military court found him guilty on multiple charges, the Pakistan Army stated on Thursday.

According to the army's publicity wing, the former spymaster, who served during the tenure of jailed former PM Imran Khan, was convicted of “engaging in political activities” and causing “wrongful loss to persons”. The military said the court-martial proceedings lasted more than 15 months and that “after lengthy and laborious legal proceedings, accused has been found guilty on all charges and sentenced to 14 years rigorous imprisonment”.
