Dev Deepawali illuminates Kashi

The holy city of Kashi glowed on Kartik Purnima as 25 lakh diyas lit up 84 ghats for Dev Deepawali 2025. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lit the first lamp at Namo Ghat, marking the start of an evening where spirituality, light and culture converged along the Ganges.

The Tourism Department arranged 15 lakh lamps, while committees and residents contributed another 10 lakh. This year’s theme at Dashashwamedh Ghat was Operation Sindoor, honouring women’s contribution to the nation. Over one lakh devotees participated in the grand Ganga Aarti.
