AP to roll out QR Code system for civic services

In a major step toward digitising urban governance and making civic services more citizen-friendly, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to introduce a QR code—based system for property tax payments and municipal services across all cities and towns in the State.

The initiative aims to eliminate the need for residents to visit municipal offices and enable seamless access to services directly from their smartphones.

Under the new system, every residential house and commercial establishment will be assigned a unique Quick Response (QR) code. Officials said these codes will be affixed to house walls or entrances, allowing property owners to instantly access municipal records by simply scanning the code using a mobile phone.
