Women's safety DMK alleges malicious campaign

R. S. Bharathi, the organising secretary of the DMK, has sharply criticised AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami and other opposition figures for orchestrating a malicious campaign against the state government under the guise of concerns over women's safety.

Bharathi's remarks came in response to a social media post by Palaniswami, who had raised alarms about the reported abduction of a woman in Coimbatore and a girl child in Kannagi Nagar, Chennai. The opposition leader, in his post, accused the government of failing to ensure the safety of women, questioning Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and his deputy, Udhayanidhi Stalin, for claiming their administration to be a "regime for women."
