Women leaders demand Chakankar's resignation

Several women leaders gathered at Kalakar Katta on FC Road on Monday to protest against State Women’s Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar, demanding her resignation for allegedly failing to act promptly and strictly in cases of women’s harassment.

Speaking to The Free Press Journal (FPJ), Congress leader Sangeeta Tiwari said, “In the case of the Satara doctor, who allegedly died by suicide, the Women’s Commission should take strict action against those responsible. The State Women’s Commission Chairperson, Rupali Chakankar, should resign immediately if she is helpless to take a courageous step against the culprits.”
