Samson has come off age in T20 WC, says Ravi Shastri

|March 07, 2026
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri believes Sanju Samson has finally “come of age” in the ongoing T20 World Cup, crediting the batter’s improved mental toughness and maturity for his match-winning performances.
Samson has been one of India’s standout performers in the knockout stage, delivering crucial innings that have helped the defending champions reach the final. India will face New Zealand in the summit clash in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
The right-hander produced a blistering 89 off 42 balls against England in the semifinal on Thursday, anchoring India to a narrow seven-run victory. Earlier, his 97 off 50 balls laid the foundation for India’s five-wicket win over the West Indies in what was effectively a quarterfinal clash.
