Citizens flag repeated lapses in verification system after high-profile cases involving forged documents

After a series of incidents involving fraudulent clearances, forged documents and suspicious approvals, serious questions have arisen about the functioning of verification systems handled by government officials across departments.

Residents in the city are demanding strong action not only against the prime accused but also against the officials who allegedly issued clearances without proper verification. The pattern of repeated lapses has triggered public anger.

Speaking to The Free Press Journal (FPJ) on the issue, RTI activist Vijay Kumbhar alleged that the issue goes beyond negligence. Kumbhar said, “Suspension over the crime is not a solution or justice. If someone can get a gun licence with fake papers, what does that mean?”
