Pressure mounts on Kadakampally

The disclosure by former Travancore Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar has significantly deepened scrutiny on former Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran over the Sabarimala gold theft case.

Padmakumar told the special investigation team that prime accused Unnikrishnan Potti had informed him of prior acquaintance with Kadakampally, and that Potti was a familiar figure in Sabarimala long before Padmakumar ever met him. According to the statement, Potti's rise at the shrine was supported by the temple's Tantri family and officials - a claim that may trigger questioning of Kadakampally in the weeks ahead.
