Police parade arrested Londhe father-son duo

The police on Thursday paraded former corporator Prakash Londhe and his son Bhushan, both suspects in the Satpur shooting and murder case.

During the parade, the father-son duo and other suspects shouted slogans such as “Nashik district is a fortress of law and order”. They were later produced before the court and remanded in police custody for three days, till Oct 12.

The arrest of Londhe, district president of the RPI (Athawale group), has sent shockwaves through the city’s underworld. Londhe and his son, who wield considerable influence in the Satpur area, are known associates of Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale. Their arrest has been seen by residents as a sign of the police taking a tougher stance on organised crime.
