BANNED| 2-week BMC survey will be conducted from Oct 1-15; civic body urges workers for registration; despite ban, cases still reported in Mumbai & suburbs
The BMC will be conducting a registration survey of manual scavengers — workers who manually handle or carry human waste — from October 1 to October 15.
The civic body has appealed to these workers to register themselves at their respective ward offices. As per directives from the Ministry of social justice and empowerment, a similar survey was conducted in 2024. At that time, no manual scavengers were identified within the BMC limits.
