Draft I-T rules released, public consultation opens

The India’s Income Tax Department on Sunday released draft rules and forms under the new Income Tax Act, 2025, and invited stakeholders to submit comments ahead of their formal notification.

The new regime is scheduled to come into force on April 1. To widen participation, the proposed Income Tax Rules, 2026, along with the corresponding forms, have been placed in the public domain on the official portal, incometaxindia.gov.in. The move marks the start of a structured consultative process before the rules are finalised.
