Anyone who was anyone thronged a buzzing room at the five day milestone birthday celebration of Gautam Singhania-a spectacular destination like week that commemorated both his sixtieth birthday and his companies centennial year.

- Nisha JamVwal

The celebrations unfolded across multiple days and countries actually—with characteristic grandeur, accompanied by gifts sent out as extravagant as the celebrations themselves.

Cut to the finale birthday night, swish skirts rustled as we entered Gautam's home lit in red - a skyscraper that reached for the skies! As i walked through a car park lined with his collection of vintage cars to where party rooms pulsed with hundreds of familiar faces, I headed straight to wish the birthday icon.

I've chronicled Gautam's journey for nearly twenty years in documentaries and my writings! How time flies with experiences! Today it was his sixtieth and we were celebrating this milestone in his triple-height party pad. He hardly looks sixty—he's been working out to get this six pack look!

Leading up to the celebration day, a coffee lounge had a grand display of an exquisite array of contemporary, high-fashion jackets featuring the chairman's collection for international guests. These would be donned by guests. Who declared fashion the sole domain of women? Gautam Singhania believes otherwise. We invited guests to select flamboyant jackets for both house celebrations and the NMACC finale, and so the international guests wore pieces they'd chosen for the occasion. And I personally handpicked jackets for our Bollywood favourites. Extravagant?
