State emblem on pvt car raises questions on enforcement

A private vehicle bearing registration number GJ 05 RZ 4987 was recently spotted displaying a large golden State Emblem of India on its rear windshield — an act that appears to violate existing regulations governing the use of the national emblem.
The car, registered under a private passing number plate, gave the misleading impression of being a government vehicle.
Residents and commuters who noticed the emblem expressed concern over the blatant misuse of national symbols, which are meant to be used only by authorized government officials and institutions under strict provisions.
