The Free Press Journal - Indore
|February 28, 2026
A total of 2,706 housebreak-ing cases have been reported in Pune over the last five years, underlining the persistent challenge faced by police in curbing such offences.
Official data show that 2022 recorded the highest number of burglary cases at 612, marking a sharp rise from 448 cases in 2021 — an increase of nearly 36%. Although there was a marginal decline in 2023 with 606 cases, the figures remained significantly high. In 2024, cases dropped to 512, but the trend reversed in 2025, with 528 cases registered, indicating a renewed rise in house break-in incidents.

A franchise haunted by its own reflection
film like a memory that refuses to stay buried. It remains the psychic birthplace of Ghost- face, a figure who has long ceased to be merely a killer and become a ritual. Here, Ghost- face feels less like an active menace than a recurring in heritance, a mask passed down by history rather than motive, familiarity dulling fear even as it sustains the myth.
