The Yogi Adityanath government has announced major expansion in Uttar Pradesh's food and drug testing capacity with 12 high-tech labs nearing completion and operations set to begin by July. The initiative, aimed at curbing adulteration, will raise annual food sample testing from 36,000 to 1,08,000 and drug sample analysis by 45%, from 12,000 to 54,500.
