Civic authorities on the run to beat SC deadline

The Supreme Court's recent order demanding the removal of stray dogs from public spaces across the country has put the civic authorities on the run, trying to figure out how to comply with the court's order within the stipulated time. The court has granted an eight-week deadline for municipalities to clear dogs from hospitals, colleges, bus depots, railway stations, and other public areas. This ruling, which comes in response to concerns about public safety, will require not only the removal of strays but also their sterilisation and relocation to designated shelters.
