Screw tightens on TDB ex-president Padmakumar
The Free Press Journal - Bhopal
|November 13, 2025
The Special Investigation Team investigating the Sabarimala gold scam has issued a second summons to A Padmakumar, the former president of the Travancore Devaswom Board, for questioning in connection with the disappearance of gold from the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.
Padmakumar had previously missed an earlier interrogation citing health issues. He has now requested more time in response to the second summons as well, citing death of a close relative. His involvement in the case has come under scrutiny due to his tenure as TDB president when crucial events related to the alleged theft unfolded. The missing gold was allegedly misrepresented as copper, based on instructions from N Vasu, who served as the Devaswom Commissioner at the time.
