With names shortlisted, Haryana Cong set to appoint district prez

In a major organizational overhaul, the Haryana Congress is set to appoint district presidents after a long gap of 11 years, with panels of shortlisted candidates being finalized and sent to the party high command on Monday.
According to party insiders, Haryana Congress in-charge BK Hariprasad will formally forward the panel list to the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
As per internal Congress sources, each district panel will include six names, with caste and regional balance being key considerations. Notably, each panel will mandatorily include at least one woman to ensure gender representation. The list will be uploaded to the Congress domain, and within 15 days, central observers along with the in-charge will hold a review meeting to finalize the district presidents. The final list will then be announced by the party, officially ending a prolonged organizational vacuum.
