The lip filler debate? Explains the right and wrong of lip enhancement

Her exaggerated pout, showcased in recent appearances, sparked both concern and criticism across the internet, with many wondering: what went wrong?

To demystify the situation, we spoke to New Delhi-based Aesthetic physician, Cosmetologist and Skin Specialist Dr. Karuna Malhotra from Cosmetic Skin and Homeo Clinic in Rajouri Garden who shares her expert insights on what likely happened, what lip fillers should and shouldn't look like, and how to approach aesthetic treatments safely.

What Are Lip Fillers? Lip fillers are non-surgical cosmetic injectables, typically made of hyaluronic acid—a substance naturally found in the skin—that adds volume, shape, and hydration to the lips. "When done right, fillers can give you soft, plump, and natural-looking lips," explains Dr. Karuna Malhotra. "But when overdone, or done by untrained hands, it can result in duck lips, uneven shape, or even long-term damage."

What possibly went wrong with Urfi Javed's lips?

While we cannot confirm the exact procedure or injector involved in Urfi Javed's case, but it happened because of the allergic reaction when she dissolved her previously done fillers.
