The court in the case was shocked by the treatment of Haryana Police - handcuffing and chaining him to a hospital bed- ordered the state to issue guidelines preventing such actions and ensuring strict compliance with Article 22 of the Constitution of India with rule amendments if necessary.

The Supreme Court in the case Vihaan Kumar Versus The State Of Haryana And Anr declared an illegal arrest due to the police’s failure to inform the detainee of the grounds of arrest.
The court in the case was shocked by the treatment of Haryana Police - handcuffing and chaining him to a hospital bed- ordered the state to issue guidelines preventing such actions and ensuring strict compliance with Article 22 of the Constitution of India with rule amendments if necessary.
The bench comprising of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice N Kotiswar Singh was hearing the present matter.
