In 2017, Jyoti Bansal sold his software startup App Dynamics to Cisco for a whopping $3.7 billion, a dream deal for most.

However, Bansal quickly realised the decision came with emotional costs. AppDynamics was a labour of love, born from his own struggles as a software engineer, and its sale left him feeling lost. What should have been a triumph became a moment of reflection.
Bansal's initial reaction was one of celebration, but after the party subsided, he felt empty. The acquisition was a sudden conclusion to his nine-year journey of building the company from the ground up. It wasn't Jyoti Bansal just about the money for him; it was about solving problems and creating something meaningful.
