SC panel report on farmers' distress seeks govt's attention

With the Supreme Court-appointed high-powered committee has sounded an alarm over the deepening agricultural crisis in India, highlighting rising input costs, mounting farmer debts, and stagnant yields has put the government in dock, demanding immediate attention to address the agrarian crisis in the leading states of Punjab and Haryana remains an uphill task.

The panel in its report has pointed to an urgent need for systemic reforms to revive the agricultural sector and mitigate the plight of farmers and all eyes are now set on the supreme court on what steps are being taken to address these issues.
