Respect and positivity help inspire change
The Daily Guardian
|March 21, 2026
In our daily interactions we may sometimes notice the mistakes or shortcomings of others.
Often, with good intentions, we try to correct them. We may point out their errors, repeatedly remind them to improve, and maybe even scold them. Yet, more often than not, this approach creates resistance rather than transformation. The other person may feel hurt, humiliated, or misunderstood. Instead of changing, they may argue, withdraw, or silently reject our advice.
True and lasting change cannot be forced from the outside; it must arise from inner awakening. Transformation happens in an atmosphere of respect, love, and acceptance — not criticism and pressure. When we directly point out someone's flaw, we unknowingly touch their ego. The moment the ego feels attacked, it defends itself. Even if the criticism is valid, the emotional reaction prevents the person from calmly reflecting on it.
