Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifted their first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title with a nail-biting 6-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 final in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 191, PBKS ended at 184/7 despite a valiant late surge by Shashank Singh.
RCB's bowlers held their nerve in the final overs as Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar executed yorkers and slower balls to perfection. Shashank fought hard, smashing multiple sixes in the last two overs, but the asking rate proved too steep. Earlier, PBKS lost momentum after the dismissals of Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis, who had kept the chase alive with brisk knocks.
