MRPS launches nationwide campaign in support of BJP

The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) has announced its support to BJP in Telangana Assembly elections.

The Madiga community constitutes at least 50% of the total Scheduled Castes in the state, and has issued a national circular, rallying support from its affiliated unions, including MSP, MSF, MMS, VHPS, MEF, MLF, MJF, MKM, and MYS, in a fervent campaign backing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
MRPS claims to represent Madigas, the largest community among the Scheduled Castes (SCs) in the state, and it has been fighting for categorisation of SCs in reservation. Saluting the dedicated activists of the social movement, the MRPS emphasised its commitment to the BJP, citing concerns over historic injustices perpetrated by the Congress in the classification of Scheduled Caste (SC) reservations.
