Mohali strengthens air raid siren network

Residents from Mohali city, Kharar, Gharuan, and Zirakpur had raised concerns that the existing air raid sirens were either too few or simply inaudible across large areas.
In response to growing security concerns and public complaints, the Mohali administration began installing new air raid sirens across key locations on Friday, with 30 requisitioned for Kharar and 20 for Zirakpur and Dera Bassi.
Mohali Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal stated, "We are comprehensively augmenting the early warning system, with some sirens having a range of up to 15 km. The orders were placed yesterday, and installation is expected to be completed by this evening."
