Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella announced on Tuesday that the company will invest USD 17.5 billion in India to support the country’s rapidly expanding artificial intelligence ecosystem.

This announcement follows Satya Nadella’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which the two leaders discussed the country’s Al roadmap and growth priorities.
Nadella called it Microsoft's “largest investment in Asia.”
In a post shared on X, Nadella said, “Thank you, PM @narendramodi ji, for an inspiring conversation on India’s AI opportunity. To support the country’s ambitions, Microsoft is committing US$175) our largest investment ever in Asia--to help build the infrastructure, skills, and sovereign capabilities needed for India’s Al-first future.”
