Indian wrestler Manisha Bhanwala has brought glory to the country by securing a gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Amman, Jordan.
This victory marks India's first gold in the tournament since Navjot Kaur's triumph in 2018. The Rohtak-based wrestler returned home to a hero's welcome, proudly wearing her hard-earned medal.
Manisha's final bout was a test of both skill and resilience. Facing a North Korean opponent, she initially struggled to adjust to the fabricated wrestling style and found herself trailing by five points—a significant disadvantage in modern wrestling. However, she maintained her composure and executed a stunning comeback in the final 18 seconds, securing crucial points to claim victory.
