Khurshid sparks row with patriotic post amid Congress internal criticism

Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid, part of the all-party delegation briefing on Operation Sindoor, stirred controversy on Monday with a cryptic post questioning those calculating political allegiances, asking, "Is it so difficult to be patriotic?"
Khurshid's post came shortly after fellow party leader Shashi Tharoor faced internal criticism for his views on surgical strikes.
Notably, Khurshid had earlier praised the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Khurshid wrote, "When on mission against terrorism, to carry India's message to the world, it's distressing that people at home are calculating political allegiances. Is it so difficult to be patriotic?"
He did not name any party leaders or specify which party he was referring to.
Khurshid's remarks on Article 370 during his visit have further deepened unease within the Congress party.
