India Reiterates Its Vision of 'Security and Growth for All' from Thailand

Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font arrived in New Delhi this week for a five-day state visit to India, which represents a pivotal advancement in the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two nations.

On the other hand, Indian PM travelled to Thailand to participate in the BIMSTEC summit.

During the visit of Chilean President, India and Chile initiated discussions aimed at establishing a comprehensive economic partnership agreement that would be mutually advantageous. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed President Boric for extensive discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation across various sectors. It included broadening the existing bilateral trade agreement between the two nations into a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, positioning Chile as the first Latin American nation to formalize such an arrangement with India. Both the leaders emphasized the importance of developing resilient supply and value chains. Indian PM characterized Chile as a key partner for India in Latin America, noting its strategic location near Antarctica, which offers opportunities for joint research expeditions. Additionally, India is prepared to share its successful experiences with Chile in fields such as digital public infrastructure, renewable energy, railways, and space exploration.
