Heavy Rains Threaten J&K as Cloudburst Toll Rises

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have issued a high alert for the next 56 hours, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall across several districts, with the possibility of flash floods, cloudbursts and landslides in hilly and flood-prone areas.
The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Disaster Management Authority (JKUTDMA) said intense rainfall is expected in Anantnag, Kulgam, parts of Central and North Kashmir, as well as Doda, Jammu, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba and Udhampur.
