Govt recognises over 1.5 lakh startups, creating 15.53 lakh jobs

As of October 31, 2024, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has recognized 152,139 entities as startups, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada informed the Lok Sabha.

This marks a significant increase from 300 startups in 2016, reflecting the government's sustained efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
