Fitness milestones provide tangible goals that keep exercise interesting and motivate us to stay active.
They are not about comparison but about celebrating progress toward better health. Global and national health agencies emphasise that regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. The World Health Organization recommends that adults aged 18-64 do at least 150 minutes of moderateintensity aerobic activity per week—such as brisk walking—or 75 minutes of vigorous activity, and suggests increasing it to 300 minutes for additional benefits. It also encourages musclestrengthening activities involving major muscle groups on two or more days per week. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) echoes these guidelines, noting that adults can break 150 minutes into 30minute chunks five days per week and should incorporate two days of strengthtraining. These recommendations form a baseline for setting milestones.
