Darshanam by Raghukul Trust, a group exhibition of Pichhwai Art works curated by Sadhana Garg September 7th to 11th, 2024, 10 am till 7 pm, Bikaner House, New Delhi Pichhwai Paintings dated as old as early 19th century are on display at the 5 day long exhibition, Darshanam by Raghukul Trust, at the Bikaner House.

Curated by Sadhana Garg, the exhibition brings to fore the Pichhwai Artworks of over 30 artists from Darshanam Arts. The exhibition supported by Rajasthan Tourism is on till Sep 11th.
Pichhwai, a traditional art form originated in the 17th century in the temple town of Nathdwara in Rajasthan.
"Pich" in Hindi means "back" and "wai" means hanging. A Picjhwai then was a backdrop to the diety in Hindu temples.
It was especially used for Bhagwan Krishna or Srinathji as he was called by those who followed the Pushtimarg- one of the Bhakti stream founded by Vallabhacharya.
"Raghukul Trust, a Jaipur based NGO Promoting Living Traditions aims to promote the languishing art and specially the artists who are not in the mainstream.
