Celebrated dancer Padma Shree Shovana Narayan turns 75 this year on 2nd September 2024.
In the run up to her milestone birthday celebrations, her disciples from round the globe converged at New Delhi’s India Habitat Centre on 22nd August to present a heartfelt tribute. From the youngest to the most seasoned dancers, this beautiful ode marked various milestones in the journey of this artist, their Guru - whom they fondly refer to as “didi”. According to Shruti Gupta Chandra, the first disciple of this Guru- “Sharanyam is a small tribute from all of us who have learnt so much from Shovana Didi- dance in its purest form and with it many life lessons. And the learning continues...”
