Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science of architecture and design that emphasizes harmony between human dwellings and the five natural elements—earth, water, fire, air, and ether.

Color, Vastu, Religion and Science-harmony through design

It is rooted in Vedic traditions and aims to promote well-being by aligning living spaces with natural forces like sunlight, wind direction, and cosmic energy.

Derived from Vastu Vidya, this discipline outlines principles for spatial planning, orientation, and design to ensure a positive flow of energy. Vastu integrates environmental considerations into structural decisions, ensuring that homes and buildings become conduits of health, prosperity, and happiness.

THE ROLE OF COLOUR IN VASTU: BALANCING ENERGIES

Colours play a critical role in Vastu. They are not just visual elements but vibrational frequencies that influence human mood, emotions, and energy levels. Colour therapy, when combined with Vastu principles, helps create spaces that are energetically aligned and psychologically uplifting.

Each colour corresponds with a specific planet, direction, or element and thus must be used thoughtfully: Yellow symbolizes wisdom, joy, and clarity and is ideal for study rooms and dining areas.

Green represents harmony, growth, and healing and is suitable for bedrooms and living rooms.

Blue encourages calmness and spiritual awareness and is recommended for meditation spaces or bedrooms.

White signifies purity and spaciousness and is generally versatile for most areas energy and creativity but should be used in moderation.

Earthy tones like beige and brown promote stability and grounding and are best for bedrooms or southwest areas.

DIRECTIONAL COLOUR GUIDELINES IN VASTU

According to Vastu, each direction corresponds to a specific planet and element, guiding colour selection accordingly: North, governed by Mercury and water, benefits from shades like light green, pista, and blue.

East, associated with the Sun and air, is suitable for white and light blue.

MERCEDES-BENZ GLS450d 4MATIC REVIEW

Cruising serenely at the Yamuna Expressway at around 90 km/h, I was passed by another GLS, that too in the same shade of Black, which compelled me to increase my pace to check if it’s a 450d as well or the previous 400d. Turns out it’s a 400d, and though I had the more powerful car, I slowed down as I didn’t want to give him an impression that I was trying to race.
