Centre clarifies separate ST status for Thadou & Kuki tribes

In response to an unstarred question raised by MP Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam in the Lok Sabha, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has provided clarity on the inclusion of various tribes in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) list of Manipur, specifically regarding the category "Any Kuki Tribe."
Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Durgadas Uikey, stated that the Scheduled Tribes list of Manipur includes both "Thadou" and "Any Kuki Tribes" as separate entries. Thadou is listed at Entry 27, while "Any Kuki Tribes" is listed at Entry 33 in the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order for Manipur.
