CAQM for 'Parali Protection Force' to curb stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana, UP

With a focus to achieve Zero Farm Fires to reduce air pollution in Delhi and nearby areas the coming Kharif Season, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has asked the leading paddy sowing states of Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh to create a special task force at district and block levels.

In the latest orders the CAQM- which formulates air pollution control strategies for Delhi-National Capital Region and the adjoining areas has asked state authorities to map all farms in villages to determine the most suitable methods for managing paddy stubble.

As per the officials this "Parali Protection Force" will include police officers, agricultural officials, and other local staff. They will keep a close watch on farmlands and stop farmers from burning crop residue, especially during late evening hours when such burning often goes unnoticed.
