At its annual convention in Lucknow, the All India Shia Personal Law Board (AISPLB) sharpened its public agenda around two themes: stronger legal protection from mob violence and greater political representation for Shia Muslims. In practical terms, the board’s resolutions placed mob lynching and representation in the same frame—arguing that safety on the street and voice in institutions are connected, and that both require legal and political action.
