The Cornishman
|July 03, 2025
HUNDREDS took part and supported the 27th St Ives Biathlon, organised by the town's Surf Life Saving Club, at the weekend.

With the support of many local organisations and businesses, more than 250 people entered across all age groups and categories on Saturday, with Izzie Leigh coming first in the women's open and Connor Keeler coming first in the men's open.
Team Marsh/Craze finished first in the open teams - where one person ran and one person swam; while Team Sousek/Sparkes finished first in the junior teams; with Evie Skinner and William Davies winning the female and male juniors.
Emilia Hoggett Crisp and Joshua Hoggett Crisp won the women's and men's novice race; with Elsie and Harvey O'Dell winning the novice teams race; while the vet race (aged 40-plus) was won by Nichola Brierley and Tim Poate; with the super vets (aged 50-plus) won by Nikki Bristow and Matt Leigh.
The senior vet race (aged 60-plus) was won by Caroline Leighton and Steven Hansford.
The open race (aged 17-39), vet race (aged 40-49), super vet race (aged 50-59) and senior vet race (aged 60-plus) saw participants run from St Ives’ harbour slipway, to Carbis Bay beach before swimming back to the start.
