Holiday lodge owners see bookings boom after uncertain year

THE owners of homes at a holiday park which went bust last year have bounced back after facing a bleak and uncertain future.

In October 2024, Kingfisher Una Resort Limited (KURL), the freeholder of the land on which 34 privately owned eco-lodges and villas sit, went into administration.

At the time, the administrators said that while the company had gone bust, the resort itself would continue to trade - albeit in a more limited form as the assets that make money, such as the leisure facilities, the restaurant, pools, gym and spa, are now owned by a separate company called Carbis Club Limited.

This event had a devastating impact on employees, suppliers and leaseholders, as well as investors looking to see the construction of their own villas completed. Most staff lost their jobs as a result of the news.
