Crowdfunder launched for sustainable clothing shop

Trish Newborn is hoping to launch Black Sack Boutique in Penzance

Trish Newborn, founder of Black Sack Boutique, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to secure a retail unit in Penzance that will offer families a new way to "recycle, reuse and re-love" children's clothing.

Parents would bring in their children's outgrown clothes to be weighed and receive shop credit based on the weight - for example, 50p to £1 per kilogram - which could then be used to buy items from the store.

Trish said the goal was to reduce textile waste, tackle the environmental and societal impact of fast fashion and support families facing rising living costs.
