The major soccer leagues are gathering momentum and there's much for football fans to look forward to in the coming days - TAB is celebrating month end with three carryover and two added pools offering R750,000 in extra cash through the weekend, and top games on the menu include would-be champions Arsenal travelling north to take on the reigning English Premier League champs on Sunday.

Sundowns to end Chiefs' run

Nasreddine Nabi will be back on the sidelines for Kaizer Chiefs tonight, when they take on champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a league clash, hoping to continue their 100% start to the season.

Nabi's return to the helm after missing the opening three matches of the season will likely engender mixed feelings among the fans. He has been missing since rushing to the bedside of his wife after she fell off the roof, Nabi was far from convincing in his first season in charge and victory in the Nedbank Cup at the end of the campaign, which ended Chiefs' decade-long trophy drought, certainly saved his job as they finished a moderate ninth in the league standings.

His assistants have been much more convincing in his absence Chiefs have won all three games and are still to concede a goal.

Chiefs topped the Betway Premiership table with Sekhukhune United before this latest round of midweek fixtures with Sundowns only two points behind them.
