MUTHUSAMY: LOWER ORDER PARTNERSHIPS GIVE PROTEAS UPPER HAND

All-rounder Senuran Muthusamy could not have evoked more superlatives in his praise of fast bowler Kagiso Rabada for his incredible innings with the bat yesterday, after Rabada's fighting knock gave the Proteas control on day three of the second Test against Pakistan.

Having resumed their first innings at 185/4, trailing the hosts by 148 runs, the Proteas were in a spot of trouble at 235/8 midway through the morning session.

However, some spectacular batting from the lower-order players gave them a 71-run first innings lead, as South Africa reached a total of 404 before they were bowled out shortly ahead of the tea break.
