SHOW COMING TO EMPERORS PALACE

- Hein Kaiser

Cocomelon hits Joburg

» Children have been captivated by its lively characters and catchy tunes.

If you're a kid, no matter your age, you'd know about Cocomelon. It's nearly impossible to avoid these days, especially if there's a young child in the house.

It's become a global phenomenon and a staple early childhood viewing around the world. It's had billions of views on YouTube and as many children have been captivated by its lively characters and catchy tunes.

Because "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands..." It's stickily infectious and Cocomelon's stepping out of the screen and onto the stage. And the show's coming to Joburg.

The Cocomelon Sing Along Show will be in living colour at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace on 7 and 8 December.

Creative associate on the show, Maci Bass, said the theatrical performance will bring more than just entertainment. She said that it's a chance for families to enjoy the magic together, beyond the confines of screens.

"We're bringing the same magic that families love about Cocomelon but in a theatre setting, where children can engage directly with the characters," said Bass. For children used to watching Cocomelon on a tablet or television, seeing it live will add a layer of excitement and a sense of wonder that screens can't quite replicate, she added.
